About us
Mia's Elite School of Dance is owned and directed by Mia Cottingham. Mia's Elite opened in 2000 and has provided hundreds of students, from the entire Kansas City area exceptional and unique dance opportunities.
Ms. Mia and her award-winning staff offer classes for all ages and types of dancers (beginning-advanced) and typically begins enrolling students at age 2 and 3, extending through all ages to anyone who is still young at heart.

Hello
My name is Mia Cottingham
I started dancing at age 10 and continued dancing through high school; winning numerous awards at competitions. I graduated from Longview Community College with an associate's degree in Liberal Arts. My vision was to start a competitive dance studio that provided my students: structure, dedication, passion, and work ethic.
I opened Mia's Elite in 2000 and have turned my studio into an award-winning studio with passion and hard work. I love working with kids of all ages and have also been a substitute teacher for the Belton School District. On top of that, I have worked with various high school dance teams including Belton, Harrisonville, and Ray-Pec. I choreographed several high school musicals for Harrisonville High School in which they have won many prestigious "Cappie" awards.

I always come to dance classes full of enthusiasm. I have traveled and judged for various competitions including Showbiz and PrimeTime. My students have won numerous awards, overall top rankings, and titles on both Regional and National levels. I have also been recognized for choreography, winning multiple choreography awards. My main goal is to challenge my students and share my love of the arts with them.
